A little while ago the super talented and totally delightful Tessa Nuku of Tee Click Photography contacted me and asked to take my portrait.
Now despite having been an actress for years I am generally pretty uncomfortable having my picture taken professionally. I tend to get this stiff face thing where I just look kind of like I am unable to breathe and possibly have something stuck up my bum.
Tessa has a wonderful way about her though and a knack for taking pictures when you are not quite looking! So I was pleasantly surprised by how much FUN the shoot was.
Now, I took her brief to make a costume pretty seriously. Never one to say no to a challenge, I designed three costumes from some of my favourite recyclables. We also played around with lots of other fun props from projects I had lying around the studio as we stepped around our combined three children snapping pictures and making big piles of colourful mess.
I’m going to stop writing now and let the images speak for themselves but where relevant I have hyperlinked to projects that have tutorials. If you see something you like and want to know more about it, comment below.
Thanks again to Tessa for making cardboard and corks look fancy and capturing these images which no doubt I will be able to use to embarrass my kids for many years to come.
Oh, and if you need a photographer and live in Sydney, give Tessa a shout.
